Rekorderlig “Hard Apple” Hard Cider (Sweden), $2.70/can by the case (Reg. $3.00) Influenced by their European heritage, where ciders are traditionally produced with a higher ABV, this flavor in the Rekorderlig line is 6.5% alcohol by volume. The initial sweet apple burst of flavor is balanced with delicate bubbles to leave a clean and refreshing finish. Enjoy chilled.
Belle Jardin Sparkling Brut (France), $10.79/bottle by the case (Reg. $11.99) This sparkling wine from Alsace exhibits light floral aromas with toasty notes. On the palate it displays a fine texture and bead with a clean, lingering finish. Perfectly balanced with elegant flavor and exhilarating freshness! Excellent aperitif or foundation for Mimosas.
Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon 2017 (Australia), $15.29/bottle by the case (Reg. $16.99) Bright and shiny, white gold with silver hues. The nose is intense with nuances of yellow peach, passion fruit, lemon zest and juniper berry aromas, with a hint of white pepper corn. The palate is fresh and vibrant with citrus and melon characteristics and a long, zesty finish.
Taft Street Pinot Noir 2015 (California), $23.39/bottle by the case (Reg. $25.99) Aromas of ripe plum, cola, and cherry tobacco lead to flavors of black cherry, blueberry, and mocha. A wonderful balance of Russian River Valley fruit and integrated Damy French Oak flavors linger on the palate. The 2015 harvest saw warmer temps and a dry growing season which accelerated ripening and resulted in quite aromatic and condensed flavors. The result is very elegant and enjoyable.
Notre Dame des Pallieres Gigondas 2014 (France), $24.29/bottle by the case (Reg. 26.99) Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre provide aromas of sweet plum and tobacco and entice the palate with intense flavors of blackberries and spices, silky tannins and a smoky finish.
Delaforce Late Bottled Vintage 2011 Porto (Portugal), $17.99/bottle by the case (Reg. 19.99) 91 Points – Wine Spectator – Unfiltered field blend with warm fig and blackberry compote flavors leading the way, while licorice, mulling spice and fruitcake notes comprise the finish. The lingering tarry echo is pleasant. This vintage opens soft, displaying an elegant mid-palate and then keeps flaunting its intensity and dry finish.
