Well-structured with a divinely smooth finish.
Charles Smith Boom Boom! Syrah 2016 (Washington), $17.09/bottle by the case (Reg. $18.99) 90 points – Wine Spectator – A mild beginning prepares the nose for aromas that open to reveal notes of berry, herb and orange peel. The palate sparkles with lively blackberry, smoky pepper and licorice flavors that linger on the finish. Perfect companion for ribs!
Carmen Gran Reserve Petit Sirah 2013 (Chile), $15.29/bottle by the case (Reg. $16.99) Sweet candied fruit perfume with more subtle aromas of dark chocolate jump from the glass. The palate displays leather, and lots of big black fruit. The concentrated fruit flows all the way through the finish and the broad and balanced tannins linger for some time. This is an excellent example of Petite Sirah sourced from Chile’s famed Maipo Alto Valley.
Klinker Brick “Farrah” Syrah 2014 (California), $21.59/bottle by the case (Reg. $23.99) Exhibits aromas of ripe plum, cacao, and smoky oak with subtle earthy and floral notes. The palate is greeted with bright and vibrant flavors of blackberry, anise and exotic spices. Supple tannins and superb balance lend structure to this full-bodied Syrah with a long, lingering finish. Enjoy with grilled meats or mushroom risotto.
Roscato Rosso (Italy), $12.59/bottle by the case (Reg. $13.99) Delicately sweet, Frizzante red wine made from grapes grown in the beautiful northern Italian region of Lombardy. With intense aromas of blackberries and ripe wild berries, this wine serves as a wonderful aperitif and is also incredibly food-friendly. Serve chilled.
